Buba - Paranormal Stories

Disclaimer - If you don't like ghost stories, unexplained stories, paranormal, haunted, spiritual etc. stories, I would go ahead and skip this post.

Paranormal stories, story times, vlogs and cllabs are popping up like crazy on social media, especially on YouTube. Seems like the good ol' ghost stories are back. I would say I'm a typical person who enjoys a truly thrilling ghost story but then immediately regrets hearing them the minute the sun goes down. I grew up reading the Scary Stories to Tell in the dark series and watching "Are You Afraid of the Dark" on the TV just like a lot of kids who grew up in the 80s and 90s and to this day I still love talking about the unexplained. My husband on the other hand will not have anything to do with these types of stories and let's be honest he's probably the smartest person out there for not wanting to get involved. But needless to say because he doesn't want to hear my stories I've got to tell someone, so I'm blogging them!

These stories are 100% true and not fabricated in any way. A lot of you won't think these are scary at all but it was when we were in the moment. So sit tight and enjoy the read.

This first instance was how everything got started and wasn't paranormal in any way, shape or form. It was simply un-explainable and sort of silly. I can't for the life of me remember if it was my birthday or my sister's birthday but mom had bought a whole bunch of helium balloons for one of us. One by one the balloons would slowly lose their air and die, but there was one balloon in particular that stayed around the longest. It was a yellow smiley face. Nothing was abnormal about this balloon until it lost some of its helium and so it became eye level with you when you were standing. We would be sitting in the living room watching tv and it would float right in front of us, turn and as if it was looking at us and smile like it was just walking by. This became increasingly un-nerving. I remember sitting in my room doing homework one night with my door open. This balloon had "walked" in, circled my room twice, and then left out the door just as it came. It would do this throughout the whole house. Down the hall, into each room, back down the hall, into the kitchen, into the den and living room...people say it's because of the air currents in our house, but if that was the case wouldn't it have had the same "walking" path each and every time? This balloon was random, it would go up and down the stairs by itself, pass in the hallway while "looking" at you as you were in your room...etc. Maybe it was just air currents but it never lost its helium. It remained eye level until my mom popped it. She said`"It's creeped me out for the last time." It was that balloon that we named Buba and then anything and everything that we later couldn't explain how it happened became an act of Buba.

The second story is a combined two that happen to my sister. Again, not scary, just un-explainable. My sister had just taken her taquitos out of the microwave when the dog needed to be let outside. Our house is a raised ranch which means when you walk into our front door you either have to immediately go up or down. The downstairs is a finished basement and you have to go down there to access the backyard. So my sister goes from the kitchen upstairs to the back door downstairs and lays her taquitos on the downstairs couch. Now, at the time it was only her and one of my brothers at home. She lets the dog out and goes to pick up her taquitos and they're gone. Thinking that it's my brother playing a trick on her she runs upstairs to confront him. He's on his computer playing games and she says "hey, where are my taquitos?" he takes his headphones off "What?" She asks again, "where are my taquitos?" and he responds "I don't know..." She asks him if he was downstairs and he says no. She's growing impatient so she says "come on just give them to me, I'm hungry." and he says "I really don't have them. I didn't touch them, I swear." And they both go down stairs to look for them. They tore the downstairs room apart looking for these things. They pulled out the couch cushions, they opened the feet rest, they move the entire sofas and they could not find them!
We ended up finding them, almost a year later, in the exact spot she put them down in, on the couch cushion. I don't have an answer for that one. I don't know where they went or how they got back without anyone seeing them for months...

The other story involving her was when she was with our other brother and they were on their way to go somewhere. My brother was driving and she was in the front passenger seat. They both hear Michael Buble start singing "birds flying high...." and they both continued the lyrics "You know how I feel" and then nothing. My brother asked "why did you change it?" (meaning the song, he thought she had changed the ipod song) and she said "change what? I didn't have anything on..." The radio wasn't on, none of their phones were playing music, the windows were up so it didn't come from another car.. Just very strange that they both heard the music playing, responded, and then nothing after that.

The last thing is the scariest things that have happen to me personally. I'm sure you have all heard by now that there are some songs that if you play them backwards have hidden messages (and not good messages). Stairway to heaven is a big one. If you haven't heard of this - youtube is full of videos who are able to play them forwards and backwards for you with a click of the button although I HIGHLY recommend you DO NOT listen to it. This started years ago when my dad was telling me his story (not posting it here, let me know if you wanna hear his story) but this was back in the day when kids had to play records backwards if they wanted to hear the message. They would get a pencil and use the eraser end to control the speed of the record as they spun it backwards on the player. My curiosity got the best of me and I decided I wanted to hear this for myself. So thank you youtube I got to listen to that song and a few others. Mind you, I did this at night, when I was home alone. NOT the brightest of ideas... I had just got done listening to the songs and I was just surfing the net, probably on myspace because it was that long ago now.. and all of a sudden the radio upstairs starts playing this hard rock station full blast! I was like that's it! Someone is in my house and I'm going to die! At the time I had a dog who never once got up to look around or acted like something was wrong or there was an intruder in the house. So I told myself "well this is how horror movies start" and I went upstairs to check it out (with the dog of course). There was no one there. I turned the radio off. I was still home alone. All doors were locked. I checked the house, no one hiding....Dog was fine, not freaked out in any way. I don't know how that radio turned on. Maybe just a fluke but I don't know how the volume got turned up all the way because we listen to it on like 20 and it goes all the way up to 60. It was blazin' loud. And why was it on the hard rock station? No one in my family listens to hard rock. Just very strange but yeah I will NEVER EVER EVER listen to songs backwards anymore. I learned my lesson. Too bad I didn't take my dad's word for it and leave it at that the first time though.

If you're still with me, great! I'm sorry this is a long post but just a final fair warning about scary stories, and this is coming from a person who LOVES hearing scary tales. Please be careful. You can never unsee what you saw or unhear what you heard or in this case unread what you have read. "Life's no fun without a good scare" but pay attention to what you're doing. Do not actively invite evil in. Do not engage in evil pass times like playing music backwards to hear a demonic message. Don't pay games inviting something to come talk to you. Don't search out any of that stuff. I definitely believe you can be influenced by unseen things. I believe in demons and spiritual beings and I truly believe these things can cause you harm. I have MANY more actual scary stories I saved from this post. They didn't happen to me so I would have to ask for permission to tell them but from what has happened to my extended family members I can tell you evil is real and it lurks in the shadows. It can and will harm you if given a chance.

Wedding Planner - Emergency Bridal Kit

One question I get often as a Wedding Planner is "What is in my Emergency Bridal Kit?" As a built in service for my brides I provide them an Emergency Bridal Kit on the day of their wedding. This kit includes personal care products, first aid, pain relievers, tools - anything you think you MIGHT need on the day of the wedding. These kits are custom made for each bride as no wedding is ever truly the same but most kits have a common core list of items. Because I have a wedding today I thought it would be a great idea to show you what's in Today's Bride's Emergency Kit.  Tools: Pliers Wire Cutters Measuring Tape Screw Drivers of various sizes (Flat Head & Phillips) Hammer  &/or Mallet It's amazing how many times you can say "I wish I had a screw driver or tape measure with me for this..." It's better to just be prepared because you never know what you'll be called to do or what will need some fixing. Personal

October 6, 2017 - The Whole World Now Knows We Are Pregnant!

Wow. This past week has been crazy. We finally told the world that we’re expecting our babies this coming spring and I’ve receiving nothing but congratulations all week long. I strategically planned out our announcement as I’m not one for personal attention. I tend to shy away and knew I would need a week of a few “congratulations” and hugs here and there before I really started to see people and be overwhelmed by hugs and questions, etc. The internet is different, I have time to respond and think about how I’m going to answer certain questions but when you’re face to face with someone you don’t have a lot of time to think and it at times can make me anxious. Any way the cat is out of the bag and everyone knows now and I’m excited to be sharing my journey now publicly. I love posting pictures and writing updates. Even if people weren’t interested in our story I think it’s a nice keepsake to look back on and remember the journey it took to get to this point and the enjoyment of pregnan
