Wedding Planner - Emergency Bridal Kit

One question I get often as a Wedding Planner is "What is in my Emergency Bridal Kit?" As a built in service for my brides I provide them an Emergency Bridal Kit on the day of their wedding. This kit includes personal care products, first aid, pain relievers, tools - anything you think you MIGHT need on the day of the wedding. These kits are custom made for each bride as no wedding is ever truly the same but most kits have a common core list of items. Because I have a wedding today I thought it would be a great idea to show you what's in Today's Bride's Emergency Kit.  Tools: Pliers Wire Cutters Measuring Tape Screw Drivers of various sizes (Flat Head & Phillips) Hammer  &/or Mallet It's amazing how many times you can say "I wish I had a screw driver or tape measure with me for this..." It's better to just be prepared because you never know what you'll be called to do or what will need some fixing. Personal...

Buba - Paranormal Stories

Disclaimer - If you don't like ghost stories, unexplained stories, paranormal, haunted, spiritual etc. stories, I would go ahead and skip this post. Paranormal stories, story times, vlogs and cllabs are popping up like crazy on social media, especially on YouTube. Seems like the good ol' ghost stories are back. I would say I'm a typical person who enjoys a truly thrilling ghost story but then immediately regrets hearing them the minute the sun goes down. I grew up reading the Scary Stories to Tell in the dark series and watching "Are You Afraid of the Dark" on the TV just like a lot of kids who grew up in the 80s and 90s and to this day I still love talking about the unexplained. My husband on the other hand will not have anything to do with these types of stories and let's be honest he's probably the smartest person out there for not wanting to get involved. But needless to say because he doesn't want to hear my stories I've got to tell som...

Update on Life

So I totally feel like we're not even friends any more....Because I'm such a great blogger... Update on life right now - it's insane! I have 2 weddings coming up, one on the 14th and the other on the 21st and I've been trying to get 100% prepared for those lately. Everything is coming together very nicely. I'm currently sitting in the extra bedroom surrounded by everything wedding putting together some place settings. I figured I needed to update everyone on life because it's been over a month since I've posted! I have recipes (with pictures) that I want to post as well as start talking about my wedding planning business - equipped with website and talk about Eric and My plans for the future.  Just a quick snip it, Eric started a new job, Yes a NEW job. I feel like he's always starting a new job but the back story behind this one is that he and his whole department was let go back in January from BMW. He applied to multiple dealerships in the sur...

Teaching Me To Pray

The Lord is teaching me how to pray.  I grew up in a home that prays, my parents taught me from an early age. Just recently though, with some of the new situations Eric and I find ourselves in, I've been learning to pray more directly for what I want.  "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace. That we may find mercy and grace in time of need." Hebrews 4:16 I've been thinking and studying that verse a lot in the past few weeks and just the meaning of coming boldly to the throne. We can come with confidence when we ask the Lord to satisfy a need. I've been praying for Eric but in a sense of "Help him" and then I thought why am I not praying for what I want God to do specifically for him? Then I did and I got specifically what I had asked for (which wasn't good either because I didn't ask for the Lord's will to be done). And that's the other part to the story. We think we know what we want and have the answer to all our pr...

Role Models of Love

Today I am thankful for such wonderful love stories in my life.      My father's parents just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Their love story is one I truly look up to. Their beginning was humble, My grandfather met his wife in California on the steps of a Library (I think...). He was working, sweeping the steps when she walked by and he told her "Hunnita if you don't watch out I'm going to sweep you off your feet" and he did. At least that's what he told me what happened. I like to believe it's true because of how sweet and funny it is.     My Maternal Grandparents were married in 1951 and stayed married until the death of my Grammy in 2007. That Grandfather passed away this past November and I know they both are in Heaven celebrating their 65th year together this September.   My parents will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary this year and Eric's parents will be celebrating their 42nd!   When I stop to th...

Friendship

“But Amnan had a friend…who was a very subtle man.” – 2 Samuel 13:3  Friendship is important. We need to be able to share our hopes, dreams and fears with one another but we also need to be careful who we let into our circle of friends.  I remember my grandfather preaching about this subject when I was a teenager and at the time had no desire to pay attention to what he was truly saying. Now that I’m older I appreciate the words that surprisingly still ring in my ear. Grandpa Ray use to tell my father “Tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who YOU are.” It’s something my father still tells his kids to this day. I would encourage you to make time to read 2 Samuel 13 today. The bible heeds the warning about friends in this passage.  The short version of the story is that Amnan was so “in love” with one of his half-sisters, Tamar, that it was making him sad. His friend Jonadab comes in and asks Amnan why he is so sad. Amnan tells him because he is in lov...
