2015 Christmas Letter

2015 was a world wind of adventure for us as the new Mr. and Mrs. Eric Piontkowski. Here is our year in a snapshot…
January & February were spent booking a DJ, addressing and sending out invitations, arranging the rehearsal and dinner, selecting Groomsmen attire, ordering small items, thinking of decorating ideas and getting nervous that the wedding is only 3 months away!
March was a super exciting time as our youngest nephew, Jaxson Frank Pane, was born. We enjoyed visiting him at the hospital when he was just 2 days old. He’s now 9 months old and is just the cutest! We love spending our time with all three of our nephews. I also celebrated my 26th birthday on the 25th!
April was right around the corner from the wedding. We spent this month making sure everything was ready to go, our honeymoon was booked, and vendors were paid. During this crazy time Eric also quit his 10 year career with Advance Auto Parts and started working for the BMW Dealership of Naperville. He enjoys his new position and it has truly been a blessing to both of us. He has a steady schedule with every Sunday off and we couldn’t be happier about that, especially during football season.
May we tied the knot on the 15th! It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony followed by a Football themed night full of fun, laughter and dancing with some of our very best friends and family. Even though Eric and I dated for 4 ½ years before getting married it has been exciting and also interesting as we started living under one roof as husband and wife. We took our week long Honeymoon in Lake Geneva, WI but don’t have many pictures of it because neither one of us remembered to bring a good camera.
June we started to really settle down as husband and wife. We took a few trips to the flea market, went to a Kane County Cougars game, celebrated a few more birthdays with loved ones and really started appreciating what we had found in one another.
July was a jammed pack month. 4th of July is always a big thing in Naperville, they do the Rib Fest and have thousands of people show up for the food, music and rides. We take the shuttle over and watch the 30minute display of fireworks. It’s one of my most favorite things to do. This is also the month I decided to go back to school...
I still work full time as an Administrative Assistant at the best cosmetic company in the world, ULTA Beauty. While I love my job with ULTA I felt the LORD tugging on my heart strings and was pulled in the direction of wedding planning. I started my wedding planning course towards the end of July and have only one more assignment to complete before I’m a Certified Wedding Planner. I plan on finishing up right before Christmas. I already have my first client who is getting married in May 2016 and I’m enjoying helping her plan her wedding almost as much as I enjoyed planning my own. I would love to keep both jobs going for as long as I am able to but I do hope to one day take on wedding planning as my only full time job.
August & September I buckled down and really spent my time focused on school. Eric was right alongside of me cheering me on. This was one of hardest months emotionally for us too as we made some tough decisions. One of those decisions was to wait on buying a house. I started a Ladies Bible Study on Forgiveness. I needed it.
October is another busy month for us. We celebrate a lot of birthdays during this time including Eric’s on the 31st. This year he turned 33! We also took a ride to the Pumpkin Patch with my mom and 3 of her Sunday School students (all girls). At the Pumpkin Patch we watched pig races, went through a haunter forest and haunted shack, picked our pumpkins, had apple cider donuts, and went down huge slides. October means fall and we love this sweater weather time of year.
We were blessed again this past November to take another trip to Albuquerque, NM and visit my extended family over the Thanksgiving Holiday. My brother Marcus who is in the United States Air Force was granted leave and was also able to come down to be with us for Thanksgiving. While it was a very enjoyable time with loved ones I also went with a heavy heart as my Papa (maternal grandfather) had passed away the week before we arrived. I am forever grateful for Eric who stood by my side the entire time and comforted me during this time of loss. We both were able to attend the funeral and pay our last respects.
We are currently still living in my parent’s basement but continue to look for a place to call our own. We are excited for what 2016 holds for us. Our hopes are high and positive as we look forward to buying our very first home, getting a loveable dog companion and starting our own little family.
May you all have a very Blessed and Merry Christmas this year!
Love,
The P's

Free Samples and Offers

I wanted to get this out soon as possible as I know the Holidays are upon us and everyone is looking to save some money this time of year. This post is geared towards parents of multiples but if you have singletons please feel free to reach out to the companies below too for some free samples and offers, but please be aware some offers might not apply to you. If you’re like me then the minute your babies were born you were online looking at deals and ways to save money. I came across a lot of blog posts and articles stating if you contact this company then they will send you this product free. I thought how true is this? So I put them to the test. I took many lists from the internet and combined it into one giant list of baby product companies; I then emailed and mailed each company requesting free samples due to the birth of my twin girls. Below you will find the responses I received. Some companies were great, while others were….off putting. I included coupon codes I found o...

My God Answers Prayer

I thought it might be fun to do a small series about what my God is. This post will just be verses about how God answers prayers and for us to use as a great reminder. Feel free to comment below which verses have helped you remember that God answers your prayers (maybe not always in the way you were asking) or a story about how He has answered. Psalm 86: 6 - 7 Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer and attend to the voice of my supplications. I will call upon thee for thou wilt answer me. Psalm 116:1 - 2 I love the Lord because he ahth heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore I will call upon him as long as I live. Psalm 138:3 In the day when I cried thou answered me, and strengthened me with strength in my soul. Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. 1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and his ears are open unto their prayers ...

Centerpiece Craft - 4th of July

I've started preparing for my BBQ on July 4th and the first thing I knew I wanted to make was a centerpiece for the table where all the food is going to be laid out. Regardless of what's going on in Washington and who is President right now, I'm a diehard America fan. My father was in the Air Force, I grew up a Military Brat, tons of uncles and aunts and my grandparents have served... and my brother is currently serving the US Air Force so I'm a little obsessed with these patriotic holidays. I think I mentioned before that July 4th is becoming one of my favorites but anyway because of this I'm going all out for this BBQ so let's get into the craft. What You Will Need: A large clear jar or container Pinecones Red, White & Blue spray paint Fun, patriotic sprays 2 Cardboard boxes - to keep the mess to a minimum I found my pinecones about two years ago now from a floral shop on craigslist that was closing. They had thrown out everything and I was there...
