Christmas 2017

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

As I sit down to write this year’s Christmas letter It’s a Wonderful Life is playing in the background and I am reminded of all of the wonderful things Eric and I have enjoyed this year.

In December of last year I claimed 2017 was going to be the year of the Piontkowskis and that it was going to be our miracle year. It didn’t disappoint. Eric and I had been wanting to start our family and in July our prayers were answered, we are expecting our two little girls to arrive in March 2018!! We couldn’t be more excited.

My boss of five years retired in February and I now work for the Vice President of Construction. I celebrated 10 years with ULTA this past August. Eric is working for Advantage Chevrolet of Bolingbrook in their parts department and is happy there. We are blessed.

Our youngest nephew Mason Oliver was born April 21st. Just when I thought my heart couldn’t get any bigger, it did. Our four nephews have a special place in our hearts.

Eric and I celebrated two years of marriage on May 15th. We are enjoying married life and still are learning new things about each other every day. I am so thankful for him though because I wouldn’t be able to survive without him. Since August my feet have been hurting, to the point where I am now in a wheelchair and he helps me out with absolutely everything. He is my hero. We continue to go to doctor appointments only to be told “we don’t know what’s wrong with you…” Please keep us in your prayers.

Our trip to the Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico was put on hold so Eric could stack up his vacation time. We’re hoping to get out there October 2018 and bring the girls along to meet their extended family.

This year has definitely been another year of ups and downs but the best of all is preparing for our twins. It truly has been fun to shop for them and get the nursery ready. We cannot wait until they are here and get to meet all of you!

We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and happy New Year. May the Lord continue to bless each one of you!!

Love,

Nursery Sneak Peek

We’re still organizing the nursery so I didn't take full pictures of the room but here's a few sneak peek photos of what we have set up so far. Our room isn't really "themed" but it's painted mint and grey and so we kept those colors in mind went we bought accessories.   This is the girls' closet. We were so blessed to have friends and family give us hand me downs on top of all the new clothing items we received from the baby showers. They have more than enough, I just hope I'm able to take pictures of them in everything before they outgrow them!!   This is their changing table (before)  When we had our showers we just put everything up and out of the way but then I realized we needed to get a system going in here so we bought small baskets from the dollar store and were able to organize the little stuff. I actually love the way it came together (and after) Top is their changing pad - cover is from Babies R Us "woodland" them...

Life Update - No April Fools

I sit here in a crowded room filled with papers, knick knacks, Christmas decorations, Wedding Planning materials and more sprawled out everywhere. I worked my last day at the corporate distribution center on Friday. Come Monday I'll be starting in a new-to-me building and it's bitter-sweet. I love the old DC, where there were only about 100 corporate employees there, everyone knew everybody personally and you could have personal items displayed on your desk without fear of something happening to them. With this move, I don't think I will be as lucky... Hence all the random items now laid out in my office.  I'm realizing I'm going to need to make a trip down to the storage unit to put away the boxes that came home from the office. But seeing all my packed up wedding items, I've also been thinking I really need to start promoting my wedding/event planning business. I finally received my event planning certificate in the mail on Thursday of this past week and it ...

Centerpiece Craft - 4th of July

I've started preparing for my BBQ on July 4th and the first thing I knew I wanted to make was a centerpiece for the table where all the food is going to be laid out. Regardless of what's going on in Washington and who is President right now, I'm a diehard America fan. My father was in the Air Force, I grew up a Military Brat, tons of uncles and aunts and my grandparents have served... and my brother is currently serving the US Air Force so I'm a little obsessed with these patriotic holidays. I think I mentioned before that July 4th is becoming one of my favorites but anyway because of this I'm going all out for this BBQ so let's get into the craft. What You Will Need: A large clear jar or container Pinecones Red, White & Blue spray paint Fun, patriotic sprays 2 Cardboard boxes - to keep the mess to a minimum I found my pinecones about two years ago now from a floral shop on craigslist that was closing. They had thrown out everything and I was there...
