As a mom of twins I've learned that I need to be really organized. Not just with mom stuff but also with every day things like laundry, meal planning, event planning and family planning, and Christmas planning falls right in there. This is my first Christmas with kids so I knew it was going to take some extra effort to do things I typically do for Christmas such as taking a family photo, sending out Christmas cards, etc. but now I'm also learning and planning out what my kids needs are during this Christmas season and when I should start preparing for that.
I started planning early this year - think October! I've found that the twins are true to size when it comes to their clothing but wear a size up in pajamas so I made lists of what they would need around that time of year and beyond for those who would ask for it. Every time I go to the store I take pictures of things I know the girls are interested in, in order to give gift ideas to family. I started putting money aside and creating a list of gifts that would come from my husband and I and a gift Santa would give. Eric and I will start shopping in the coming days and I'm really so excited!!
We took family photos back in September this year and unfortunately it was a really warm one so our Christmas photos look more like summer photos but that's okay! They came out great and that's all I truly cared about. Once we got our edited photos back, I made my Christmas card list to see how many cards I would need, and I went online right away to look for holiday card deals. Vistaprint was doing an early Black Friday sale where it was 50% off holiday items. I took advantage of that and ordered 160 cards for around $80. If you start early you can find some great deals like this one. Some other great sites to order from are Simply to Impress, Minted, and Blurb. We used Simply to Impress for the twin's birth announcement and Blurb we created a wedding album from. I love those site, they all have great customer service and product selections.
I thought it would be fun and maybe a little helpful to put a list together on how I did and plan on doing things this year for Christmas. So tell me, how do you plan out your Christmas or do you sort of just wing it? I'd love to hear from you!
I hope you all have fun getting ready for this coming Holiday Season!!
