Getting Ready For Christmas

As a mom of twins I've learned that I need to be really organized. Not just with mom stuff but also with every day things like laundry, meal planning, event planning and family planning, and Christmas planning falls right in there. This is my first Christmas with kids so I knew it was going to take some extra effort to do things I typically do for Christmas such as taking a family photo, sending out Christmas cards, etc. but now I'm also learning and planning out what my kids needs are during this Christmas season and when I should start preparing for that.

I started planning early this year - think October! I've found that the twins are true to size when it comes to their clothing but wear a size up in pajamas so I made lists of what they would need around that time of year and beyond for those who would ask for it. Every time I go to the store I take pictures of things I know the girls are interested in, in order to give gift ideas to family. I started putting money aside and creating a list of gifts that would come from my husband and I and a gift Santa would give. Eric and I will start shopping in the coming days and I'm really so excited!!

We took family photos back in September this year and unfortunately it was a really warm one so our Christmas photos look more like summer photos but that's okay! They came out great and that's all I truly cared about. Once we got our edited photos back, I made my Christmas card list to see how many cards I would need, and I went online right away to look for holiday card deals. Vistaprint was doing an early Black Friday sale where it was 50% off holiday items. I took advantage of that and ordered 160 cards for around $80. If you start early you can find some great deals like this one. Some other great sites to order from are Simply to Impress, Minted, and Blurb. We used Simply to Impress for the twin's birth announcement and Blurb we created a wedding album from. I love those site, they all have great customer service and product selections.

I thought it would be fun and maybe a little helpful to put a list together on how I did and plan on doing things this year for Christmas. So tell me, how do you plan out your Christmas or do you sort of just wing it? I'd love to hear from you!

I hope you all have fun getting ready for this coming Holiday Season!!

If you’re like me then the minute your babies were born you were online looking at deals and ways to save money. I came across a lot of blog posts and articles stating if you contact this company then they will send you this product free. I thought how true is this? So I put them to the test. I took many lists from the internet and combined it into one giant list of baby product companies; I then emailed and mailed each company requesting free samples due to the birth of my twin girls. Below you will find the responses I received. Some companies were great, while others were….off putting. I included coupon codes I found o...

October 24, 2017 - New OB Getting On My Nerves

Today I saw Dr. Carney from the OB office. I’m not really sure how I feel about her. First off….She didn’t schedule me for an ultrasound today. She just used the fetal dopplar to hear both babies’ heart beats. That’s fine and all, but I just had a scare about two weeks ago I want to see these babies! I wanted to make sure everything is still ok! No go. Then she’s pushing for me to get the Flu shot and to each their own when it comes to this subject, I however am not taking the chance. I get sick every time I get the shot, and I don’t care what the health professionals say, I know my body. I’m going to get sick if I get the shot. AND there’s also NO study done that says this shot is absolutely 100% safe for pregnancy. Um….no thank you. I’ve had enough ladies tell me in my support groups that suspiciously a week after they received the flu shot they miscarried. These are women in all stages of pregnancy, 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd trimesters. No. I’m not getting the Flu Shot. So I decl...
