Homemade Wipes Recipe

There are a ton of recipes out there for homemade butt wipes for baby but if you’re anything like me you want cheap and easy. So here is my quick recipes made with things you probably already have and if not you can get for dollars.

Ingredients
2 cups Distilled Water
2 TBS Coconut Oil
1 TBS Baby Oil
1 TBS Baby Wash/Shampoo
Empty Container
1 Roll of Viva Paper Towels (select a size)

The empty container can be an empty wipes container or can be anything with a sealable lid (you don’t want your wipes drying out).
Note: The coconut oil is there to keep your wipes from becoming moldy.

Directions
Pull apart paper towels, fold in half and stick as many that will fit in the container.
Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and pour over the paper towels.
Let stand 15 – 20 minutes before first time use.

If you have a container that has a lid, like Tupperware, you can turn the container upside down and the top wipe will always be moist and ready to go. Do not do this with an actual wipes container, it will leak!

A lot of recipes will tell you to cut the paper towel roll in half, take out the cardboard center and smash down the paper towels down in the solution of your container. I tried this method and it worked like it was supposed to, pulling the middle of the wipes up and out (think Lysol wipes), but I found my wipes were very fragile and would break apart easily. I prefer the tear and fold method.

Other Container Ideas:
Old Wipes Container
Lysol Container
Mason Jars (ANY jar)
Tupperware
Coffee Can

My God Answers Prayer

I thought it might be fun to do a small series about what my God is. This post will just be verses about how God answers prayers and for us to use as a great reminder. Feel free to comment below which verses have helped you remember that God answers your prayers (maybe not always in the way you were asking) or a story about how He has answered. Psalm 86: 6 - 7 Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer and attend to the voice of my supplications. I will call upon thee for thou wilt answer me. Psalm 116:1 - 2 I love the Lord because he ahth heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore I will call upon him as long as I live. Psalm 138:3 In the day when I cried thou answered me, and strengthened me with strength in my soul. Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. 1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and his ears are open unto their prayers ...

Life Update - No April Fools

I sit here in a crowded room filled with papers, knick knacks, Christmas decorations, Wedding Planning materials and more sprawled out everywhere. I worked my last day at the corporate distribution center on Friday. Come Monday I'll be starting in a new-to-me building and it's bitter-sweet. I love the old DC, where there were only about 100 corporate employees there, everyone knew everybody personally and you could have personal items displayed on your desk without fear of something happening to them. With this move, I don't think I will be as lucky... Hence all the random items now laid out in my office.  I'm realizing I'm going to need to make a trip down to the storage unit to put away the boxes that came home from the office. But seeing all my packed up wedding items, I've also been thinking I really need to start promoting my wedding/event planning business. I finally received my event planning certificate in the mail on Thursday of this past week and it ...

Centerpiece Craft - 4th of July

I've started preparing for my BBQ on July 4th and the first thing I knew I wanted to make was a centerpiece for the table where all the food is going to be laid out. Regardless of what's going on in Washington and who is President right now, I'm a diehard America fan. My father was in the Air Force, I grew up a Military Brat, tons of uncles and aunts and my grandparents have served... and my brother is currently serving the US Air Force so I'm a little obsessed with these patriotic holidays. I think I mentioned before that July 4th is becoming one of my favorites but anyway because of this I'm going all out for this BBQ so let's get into the craft. What You Will Need: A large clear jar or container Pinecones Red, White & Blue spray paint Fun, patriotic sprays 2 Cardboard boxes - to keep the mess to a minimum I found my pinecones about two years ago now from a floral shop on craigslist that was closing. They had thrown out everything and I was there...
