Homemade Wipes Recipe

There are a ton of recipes out there for homemade butt wipes for baby but if you’re anything like me you want cheap and easy. So here is my quick recipes made with things you probably already have and if not you can get for dollars. Ingredients 2 cups Distilled Water 2 TBS Coconut Oil 1 TBS Baby Oil 1 TBS Baby Wash/Shampoo Empty Container 1 Roll of Viva Paper Towels (select a size) The empty container can be an empty wipes container or can be anything with a sealable lid (you don’t want your wipes drying out). Note: The coconut oil is there to keep your wipes from becoming moldy. Directions Pull apart paper towels, fold in half and stick as many that will fit in the container. Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and pour over the paper towels. Let stand 15 – 20 minutes before first time use. If you have a container that has a lid, like Tupperware, you can turn the container upside down and the top wipe will always be moist and ready to go. Do...

Getting Ready For Christmas

As a mom of twins I've learned that I need to be really organized. Not just with mom stuff but also with every day things like laundry, meal planning, event planning and family planning, and Christmas planning falls right in there. This is my first Christmas with kids so I knew it was going to take some extra effort to do things I typically do for Christmas such as taking a family photo, sending out Christmas cards, etc. but now I'm also learning and planning out what my kids needs are during this Christmas season and when I should start preparing for that.  I started planning early this year - think October! I've found that the twins are true to size when it comes to their clothing but wear a size up in pajamas so I made lists of what they would need around that time of year and beyond for those who would ask for it. Every time I go to the store I take pictures of things I know the girls are interested in, in order to give gift ideas to family. I started putting money as...

18 Things Not To Say To Someone Trying To Conceive

My husband and I spent 12 months trying to conceive our first child. I realize that a year, in the large scheme of things, is not that long and that we are blessed that things worked out in the end. But that didn't stop the cringe when we would hear the below comments made. Your time will come / It'll happen when it's meant to be. I'm sorry - do you know the future or my diagnoses? No. Then be quiet. You have no idea if it's bound to happen for me. Trust me you're lucky you don't have kid, they are a pain! Maybe yours are but that doesn't stop me from wanting my own. Just adopt. No. I should just leave that answer there. Many kids are in need of a loving home and I understand that but it also takes time and money to adopt and sometimes the adoption process doesn't work out and those last 8 months were spent in vain. It also take very special people to open their home and love a child who is not biologically theirs. And further more, adoption d...

Do We (As Christians) "Celebrate" Halloween?

What is Halloween? Halloween is an annual American holiday celebrated each year on October 31 st (my husband’s birthday!). But it is more Irish than Saint Patrick’s Day as most of its origins come from Ireland and the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts and spirits.   The Celts celebrated their new year on November 1 st , the day that marked the end of summer and the beginning of the dark, cold winter. This time of year was often associated with human death. The night before the new year it was believed that the worlds of the living and the dead could be crossed and the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. Celtic priests, known as Druids, would build huge sacred bonfires where people would gather to burn crops and animals as sacrifices to the Celtic deities in order to predict the future of the town; would it survive the long hard winter? During the celebration, the Celts wore costumes, typically animal ...

10 Things I Have Learned as a New Mom

Do not stock pile diapers. I know lots of new moms like to stock up on diapers before baby is born especially through baby showers but for us, I’m so glad we didn’t. We received a few boxes which was great because you need SOME to start out with, but I’ve seen some folks stock pile 20+ boxes of diapers. Now there’s two things I see that could go wrong with this. 1. You do not know how that brand of diaper will fit on your child. Pampers Snugglers worked the very best for us. The diapers are made bigger, so a Pampers number 2 is larger than a Luvs number 2. They curved around the girls legs much better and was tight but not too tight in the back. I found that other brands if not pulled tight in the back would leak but then would leave marks on my baby because they were too tight. Which leads me to my second though that 2. Some brands just make better diapers. We took a trip out to Albuquerque when the girls were just two months old and out of desperation we bought a package of cheap...

Motherhood in Christianity

So many aspects of my life have changed since entering the world of Motherhood. You know that you become last, kids needs always trump your needs, sleep deprivation is a real thing and you’ll never have a warm meal again (totally kidding of course…😐). Before kids I had no problem with getting up early to do my devotions and staying up late to write out some prayers. Now I barely have time to eat let alone anything else. So how do you keep your relationship with the Lord alive? Well I personally had to learn that my “quiet moments” with the Lord weren’t always so quiet . Sometimes it meant doing my lessons or devotions in the middle of a busy room, and other times during the middle of the night while the kids were asleep. My quiet moments were no longer schedule because the minute I say “I am going to sit down and do my Bible Study right now” is the exact moment when the twins have other plans for me. Maybe someone just had a blow out and need changing, or someone has an upset tu...
