Role Models of Love

Today I am thankful for such wonderful love stories in my life.      My father's parents just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Their love story is one I truly look up to. Their beginning was humble, My grandfather met his wife in California on the steps of a Library (I think...). He was working, sweeping the steps when she walked by and he told her "Hunnita if you don't watch out I'm going to sweep you off your feet" and he did. At least that's what he told me what happened. I like to believe it's true because of how sweet and funny it is.     My Maternal Grandparents were married in 1951 and stayed married until the death of my Grammy in 2007. That Grandfather passed away this past November and I know they both are in Heaven celebrating their 65th year together this September.   My parents will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary this year and Eric's parents will be celebrating their 42nd!   When I stop to th

Friendship

“But Amnan had a friend…who was a very subtle man.” – 2 Samuel 13:3  Friendship is important. We need to be able to share our hopes, dreams and fears with one another but we also need to be careful who we let into our circle of friends.  I remember my grandfather preaching about this subject when I was a teenager and at the time had no desire to pay attention to what he was truly saying. I would encourage you to make time to read 2 Samuel 13 today. The bible heeds the warning about friends in this passage.  The short version of the story is that Amnan was so “in love” with one of his half-sisters, Tamar, that it was making him sad. His friend Jonadab comes in and asks Amnan why he is so sad. Amnan tells him because he is in love with Tamar a

My Life as of Right Meow - February 12, 2016

Sometimes it's hard for me to get started writing one of these posts. Always trying to think of what to say and how to say it. In the midst of that I started thinking about life and how truly blessed I have been. 2016 has already been a rollercoaster of emotion with constant up and down moments. I finished my wedding planner course back in December, 3 days before Christmas, was officially certified on January 11th 2016 after my grades were turned in and received my paper certificate on February 3rd. I usually don't brag about myself but this time I am just so proud. I completed a course that normally takes 3 years in 5 months. I worked my butt off trying to get everything accomplished before the year end because I was asked to help plan a couple weddings for May. It has truly been a great blessing to get that out of the way and have work already lined up. What's even better is that some other people have asked about my work, and prices for weddings in 2017. I couldn't
