4th Of July Slime

This is my first attempt at slime!! With 4th of July being so close I was inspired to make it patriotic.  Here is what you'll need Clear Glue Liquid Starch Red, White and Blue Confetti or Sequins  Directions Pour one bottle of glue(12oz) into a large bowl. Slowly add the liquid starch, a tiny amount at a time. Stir for a while after each amount you add.  Sit together before adding more starch. Keep adding until the mixture begins to stick together and glue is no longer sticky.  Add you confetti or sequins as you knead it for a few minutes. Store in an airtight container for a couple weeks (not a Ziploc bag as it is nearly impossible to get it out!!) You may need to add more liquid starch after you take it out of the container if it's too sticky.  Want more 4th of July fun? Questions! 2 Years into Marriage

Two years have come and gone and I think wow...we've been married for two years already? And other times I'm like it's ONLY been two years?! Eric and I met and got together in 2010 so we've technically been together for seven years but we've been legal for only two years. So here are a few more questions after another year down... Do you wish you did anything different on your wedding day in retrospect?  If I had more money I definitely would have done things different and more expensive. For example I would have definitely had a party bus from the picture location to the wedding venue. We were trying to save money so everyone ended up driving out there, some people car-pooled because it was really far, about 45 minutes from our picture location. I would have loved for everyone to have been on the bus having fun for 45 minutes but it just wasn't in our budget. Eric and I paid for the entire wedding ourselves so we were on a tight budget. I was fortunate eno

Another Kitty Sick :(

I have a major headache. Today didn't go the way I expected at all... I'm wanting to get to bed knowing that if I don't go now I'll be tried in the morning but I wanted to recap my day while it's still fresh on my mind. Some of you know we've been having issues with one of our cats. My little orange kitty, Nadia. Turns out after all the tests they ran she has diabetes. She get's a shot twice a day, one in the morning and one at night. She's a little fighter and if she wants to keep fighting, then we'll keep her around for as long as we can. But I've been really worried about her lately, thinking she probably doesn't have much time left. I've been spending a lot of time just talking to her and petting her. Well I got home today and I noticed there was some blood on the floor. I thought the dog had cut his face on the fence again since he sticks it in there to try and get to the other dogs. I looked him over but he didn't have any cut

Centerpiece Craft - 4th of July

I've started preparing for my BBQ on July 4th and the first thing I knew I wanted to make was a centerpiece for the table where all the food is going to be laid out. Regardless of what's going on in Washington and who is President right now, I'm a diehard America fan. My father was in the Air Force, I grew up a Military Brat, tons of uncles and aunts and my grandparents have served... and my brother is currently serving the US Air Force so I'm a little obsessed with these patriotic holidays. I think I mentioned before that July 4th is becoming one of my favorites but anyway because of this I'm going all out for this BBQ so let's get into the craft. What You Will Need: A large clear jar or container Pinecones Red, White & Blue spray paint Fun, patriotic sprays 2 Cardboard boxes - to keep the mess to a minimum I found my pinecones about two years ago now from a floral shop on craigslist that was closing. They had thrown out everything and I was there

2017 Good or Bad?

Over this past week I realized something...There is no such thing as a good or bad year. 2016 was a rough year for my family. I found out I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis along with another medical issue, our basement flooded and we had to replace the carpets in the whole house, the walls in the lower level and bathroom fixtures in three bathrooms, my parents car broke down twice (same car) even though it's practically brand new (a few years old) and it was just one hit after another for us. I kept saying 2016 was a bad year and 2017 would be better. It was going to be OUR year.  Well ladies and gentlemen I'm sorry to say that there's no such thing. While some years may seem to lean one way or another they themselves are not good or bad. There are circumstances in them in which we relate them to good or bad experiences. I do still believe this is our year where my dreams will come true but 2017 has already had it's ups and downs.  I lost two church members so far

4th of July Fun Facts

Because I'm ready for the 4th of July I've been looking up fun facts for you. You are welcome! Here are 10 facts you may not know about July 4th.  According to author Kenneth C. Davis, July 2nd is the real day of independence, but it's celebrated on the 4th because that's when congress accepted Jefferson's declaration. Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence on a "laptop," which was a writing desk that could fit on one's lap. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4, 1826. James Monroe died on July 4, 1831. Calvin Coolidge was born on July 4, 1872.  Only two men signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 - John Hancock and Charles Thompson. Jefferson's original draft of the declaration of independence was lost, and the one eventually signed is the engrossed document.  The printed version of the Declaration was called Dunlap Broadside; 200 were made but only 27 are accounted for.  Congress declared Ju
