Wedding Planner - Emergency Bridal Kit

One question I get often as a Wedding Planner is "What is in my Emergency Bridal Kit?"

As a built in service for my brides I provide them an Emergency Bridal Kit on the day of their wedding. This kit includes personal care products, first aid, pain relievers, tools - anything you think you MIGHT need on the day of the wedding. These kits are custom made for each bride as no wedding is ever truly the same but most kits have a common core list of items. Because I have a wedding today I thought it would be a great idea to show you what's in Today's Bride's Emergency Kit.

Tools:
  • Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • Measuring Tape
  • Screw Drivers of various sizes (Flat Head & Phillips)
  • Hammer  &/or Mallet
It's amazing how many times you can say "I wish I had a screw driver or tape measure with me for this..." It's better to just be prepared because you never know what you'll be called to do or what will need some fixing.

Personal Care Items:
  • Tide to Go (Stain Remover)
  • Foot / Shoe Powder
  • Deodorant (Men's & Women's)
  • Mouth Wash
  • Hairspray
  • Static Guard
  • Razors
  • Cotton Balls / Rounds
  • Cotton Swabs / Q-Tips
  • Bobby Pins of all shapes, sizes and colors.
  • Face Wipes
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Women's Personal Items
  • Tissues (For everyone crying :))
Undoubtedly you will have a Bridesmaid or Groomsmen forget something. It's always great to carry extra mouth wash or deo for them. Also that hairspray comes in handy right before the ceremony - you can put in place any stray hairs.

Medications:
  • Ibuprofen
  • Pain Relief / Tylenol
  • Midol
  • Chrildren's Motrin
  • Allergy Medication
  • Eye Drops
  • Mini First Aid Kit
You never know who is going to come down with what at the last minute. It's always nice to carry some every day meds with you just in case a headache comes on or someone has been partying too hard the night before.

Fashion:
  • Mini Sewing Kit
  • Extra White and Black Thread
  • Fashion Kit (Contains stylist tape, lint removing sheets, buttons, nail files, blister pads, etc.)
  • Pearl Tipped Pins
  • Safety Pints - Assortment of sizes
Oh no! The Groom has split his pants!! Now what?! It's a good thing you have that mini sewing kit with you and extra black thread! You never know if there is going to be a wardrobe malfunction, and while you pray you never have to use it, carrying these extra items is always a must on the day of a wedding.

Miscellaneous:
  • Multiple Scissors
  • Strikers / Lighters
  • Pens
It never fails that scissors and pens go missing. Disappear into thin air. Remember to refresh your stock pile after every wedding.

There you have it. That is the detailed list of what is in my Bride's Emergency Kit for today. Whether you are the Bride, Maid of Honor, Bridesmaid, Mother of the Bride or fellow Wedding Planner, I hope this was able to help you plan for your next big day.

XOXOXO
Jacqueline

Free Samples and Offers

I wanted to get this out soon as possible as I know the Holidays are upon us and everyone is looking to save some money this time of year. This post is geared towards parents of multiples but if you have singletons please feel free to reach out to the companies below too for some free samples and offers, but please be aware some offers might not apply to you. If you’re like me then the minute your babies were born you were online looking at deals and ways to save money. I came across a lot of blog posts and articles stating if you contact this company then they will send you this product free. I thought how true is this? So I put them to the test. I took many lists from the internet and combined it into one giant list of baby product companies; I then emailed and mailed each company requesting free samples due to the birth of my twin girls. Below you will find the responses I received. Some companies were great, while others were….off putting. I included coupon codes I found o...

Centerpiece Craft - 4th of July

I've started preparing for my BBQ on July 4th and the first thing I knew I wanted to make was a centerpiece for the table where all the food is going to be laid out. Regardless of what's going on in Washington and who is President right now, I'm a diehard America fan. My father was in the Air Force, I grew up a Military Brat, tons of uncles and aunts and my grandparents have served... and my brother is currently serving the US Air Force so I'm a little obsessed with these patriotic holidays. I think I mentioned before that July 4th is becoming one of my favorites but anyway because of this I'm going all out for this BBQ so let's get into the craft. What You Will Need: A large clear jar or container Pinecones Red, White & Blue spray paint Fun, patriotic sprays 2 Cardboard boxes - to keep the mess to a minimum I found my pinecones about two years ago now from a floral shop on craigslist that was closing. They had thrown out everything and I was there...

Life Update - No April Fools

I sit here in a crowded room filled with papers, knick knacks, Christmas decorations, Wedding Planning materials and more sprawled out everywhere. I worked my last day at the corporate distribution center on Friday. Come Monday I'll be starting in a new-to-me building and it's bitter-sweet. I love the old DC, where there were only about 100 corporate employees there, everyone knew everybody personally and you could have personal items displayed on your desk without fear of something happening to them. With this move, I don't think I will be as lucky... Hence all the random items now laid out in my office.  I'm realizing I'm going to need to make a trip down to the storage unit to put away the boxes that came home from the office. But seeing all my packed up wedding items, I've also been thinking I really need to start promoting my wedding/event planning business. I finally received my event planning certificate in the mail on Thursday of this past week and it ...
