4th of July FAIL

Well as you all know I'm super excited that 4th of July is right around the corner. I've been planning my BBQ for a while now and I've purchased the necessary items to pull off said BBQ but there's one thing I forgot to check....FIREWORKS.

That's right my friends, your firework loving, ribfest attending, red white and blue blood girl completely forgot to check the firework schedule at ribfest this year and just found out today....July 1st that ribfest will NOT be doing fireworks on the 4th....

What kind of sick joke is this?! No fireworks on the 4th? HUH? As some of you know, if you live in the area, the fireworks display is not put on by ribfest itself but they work with the various sponsors, this year (2017) it is Meijer, to coordinate timing, shuttles, etc. However this year ribfest will only be going until Monday July 3rd and therefor that is when the big fireworks will take place and none of the 4th.

This put a huge wrench in my plans. We planned on having a late BBQ dinner, chatting for a bit, then hopping on the ribfest shuttle at 7pm, watch fireworks at 9:30pm and come home... Now there's a good possibility that we wont see fireworks that night. I read that there is a fireworks show happening at 9:30pm in Oswego, about 25 minutes away from us but I don't know if everyone, is going to want to drive 25 minutes, find parking (which won't be close), walk to the park, and then have to drive in the mad rush trying to go home. I would do it in a heartbeat but there's going to be small children and I don't know how they going to fair...IDK I guess all we can do is wait and see what everyone else wants to do.

This change of plans also makes my Monday longer. I have a doctors appointment in the morning, work all day, independence day parade at 6pm and then I'm going to rush back home and hopefully be able to see the ribfest fireworks. I haven't figured out logistics though, so I'm not entirely sure if this is even going to work.

Anyway all that to say...LOOK WHAT I BOUGHT!
The dollar store is one of my favorite stores to shop at. You can get a lot of great things for just a dollar.

Now, the fireworks I got from Menards and I think we spent about $40 on the lot. I'm super excited to try the Neon Sparklers! But we got regular sparklers, snaps, smoke bombs, party poppers, snakes - all stuff the little kids like doing.

2nd picture is from the dollar store and I was able to get my plates, napkins, tablecloths, bubbles, tattoos, and tons and tons of glow sticks (my favorite). This came out to be about $25 for everything.

In the coming days I'll be creating my recipe for my Independence Drink and doing my jello dessert so be on the look out for that. Ahhh I'm so excited guys! Even if I had to watch fireworks on the 3rd and just hang out all night on the 4th it's going to be so much fun!

I wanted to get this out soon as possible as I know the Holidays are upon us and everyone is looking to save some money this time of year. This post is geared towards parents of multiples but if you have singletons please feel free to reach out to the companies below too for some free samples and offers, but please be aware some offers might not apply to you. If you’re like me then the minute your babies were born you were online looking at deals and ways to save money. I came across a lot of blog posts and articles stating if you contact this company then they will send you this product free. I thought how true is this? So I put them to the test. I took many lists from the internet and combined it into one giant list of baby product companies; I then emailed and mailed each company requesting free samples due to the birth of my twin girls. Below you will find the responses I received. Some companies were great, while others were….off putting. I included coupon codes I found o...

Centerpiece Craft - 4th of July

I've started preparing for my BBQ on July 4th and the first thing I knew I wanted to make was a centerpiece for the table where all the food is going to be laid out. Regardless of what's going on in Washington and who is President right now, I'm a diehard America fan. My father was in the Air Force, I grew up a Military Brat, tons of uncles and aunts and my grandparents have served... and my brother is currently serving the US Air Force so I'm a little obsessed with these patriotic holidays. I think I mentioned before that July 4th is becoming one of my favorites but anyway because of this I'm going all out for this BBQ so let's get into the craft. What You Will Need: A large clear jar or container Pinecones Red, White & Blue spray paint Fun, patriotic sprays 2 Cardboard boxes - to keep the mess to a minimum I found my pinecones about two years ago now from a floral shop on craigslist that was closing. They had thrown out everything and I was there...

Life Update - No April Fools

I sit here in a crowded room filled with papers, knick knacks, Christmas decorations, Wedding Planning materials and more sprawled out everywhere. I worked my last day at the corporate distribution center on Friday. Come Monday I'll be starting in a new-to-me building and it's bitter-sweet. I love the old DC, where there were only about 100 corporate employees there, everyone knew everybody personally and you could have personal items displayed on your desk without fear of something happening to them. With this move, I don't think I will be as lucky... Hence all the random items now laid out in my office.  I'm realizing I'm going to need to make a trip down to the storage unit to put away the boxes that came home from the office. But seeing all my packed up wedding items, I've also been thinking I really need to start promoting my wedding/event planning business. I finally received my event planning certificate in the mail on Thursday of this past week and it ...
