Piontkowski Twins Coming April 2018

We’re pregnant!!!

Since posting about our exciting news of expecting twins on Social Media I’ve been getting a few questions about them that I thought I would just make into a post.

When are you due? April 8th however my OB will not let me go past 38 weeks due to a higher risk of something going wrong (i.e. running out of space/fluid for the twins, Cords around necks, and stillbirths). I will be 38 weeks on my birthday, March 25th. I’m praying they come on their own before then – I do not want to be induced.

How far along are you now? 13 weeks this past Sunday

Will you have a C-Section? I would love to have a natural birth. Usually as long as the first baby is head down they’ll deliver both naturally. If they are in distress I will of course do whatever is best for the babies and that might mean changing my birth plan. I will not schedule a C-Section if I don’t go past 38 weeks. Some women have the first naturally and the 2nd has to be C-Section so you just never know. Twin mom means you can’t get too attached to one plan because it may need to change right in the middle.

Are they Identical Twins? No. They are Dichorionic/Diamniotic (DI/DI) twins aka fraternal twins. They each came from separate eggs and sperm, they have their own placenta and their own amniotic sac. These types of twins are the most common and have the lowest risk in utero.

Do you know genders? Not yet. We will be finding out in November.

Are you hoping for them to be a specific gender? My sister-in-law has 4 boys so it would be nice to bring a granddaughter into the family and I think boy/girl twins would be so fun! But honestly we prayed hard for these little miracles, I will take whatever the Lord would like to give me.

Do you have names picked out? Yes and no. We have one boy and one girl name. We’re choosing not to share them just yet because we don’t want to hear negative comments about them. They are unique but not weird.

Do twins run in your family? My husband has a twin sister. I have twin cousins but we’re not biological. This is just God’s miracle for us.

This blog is definitely going to morph into a pregnancy blog/update #sorrynotsorry! Eric and I are beyond excited about our little twins. We can't wait to meet them. I'm trying to catch my ZZZ's now because I have a feeling I'll never sleep again...

Nursery Sneak Peek

We’re still organizing the nursery so I didn't take full pictures of the room but here's a few sneak peek photos of what we have set up so far. Our room isn't really "themed" but it's painted mint and grey and so we kept those colors in mind went we bought accessories.   This is the girls' closet. We were so blessed to have friends and family give us hand me downs on top of all the new clothing items we received from the baby showers. They have more than enough, I just hope I'm able to take pictures of them in everything before they outgrow them!!   This is their changing table (before)  When we had our showers we just put everything up and out of the way but then I realized we needed to get a system going in here so we bought small baskets from the dollar store and were able to organize the little stuff. I actually love the way it came together (and after) Top is their changing pad - cover is from Babies R Us "woodland" them...

Centerpiece Craft - 4th of July

I've started preparing for my BBQ on July 4th and the first thing I knew I wanted to make was a centerpiece for the table where all the food is going to be laid out. Regardless of what's going on in Washington and who is President right now, I'm a diehard America fan. My father was in the Air Force, I grew up a Military Brat, tons of uncles and aunts and my grandparents have served... and my brother is currently serving the US Air Force so I'm a little obsessed with these patriotic holidays. I think I mentioned before that July 4th is becoming one of my favorites but anyway because of this I'm going all out for this BBQ so let's get into the craft. What You Will Need: A large clear jar or container Pinecones Red, White & Blue spray paint Fun, patriotic sprays 2 Cardboard boxes - to keep the mess to a minimum I found my pinecones about two years ago now from a floral shop on craigslist that was closing. They had thrown out everything and I was there...

My God Answers Prayer

I thought it might be fun to do a small series about what my God is. This post will just be verses about how God answers prayers and for us to use as a great reminder. Feel free to comment below which verses have helped you remember that God answers your prayers (maybe not always in the way you were asking) or a story about how He has answered. Psalm 86: 6 - 7 Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer and attend to the voice of my supplications. I will call upon thee for thou wilt answer me. Psalm 116:1 - 2 I love the Lord because he ahth heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore I will call upon him as long as I live. Psalm 138:3 In the day when I cried thou answered me, and strengthened me with strength in my soul. Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. 1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and his ears are open unto their prayers ...
