What Will The Babies Be??

Gender Prediction Time! What will the Piontkowski Babies be? Two Boys? Two Girls? One of each??? Help me figure it out by using some old wives tales.

Old Wives Tale #1: Heart Rate
If the baby’s heart rate is above 140 bpm, it is said that the baby will be a girl. If it is under 140 bpm, then it will be a boy. Prediction Outcome: Both Girls

Old Wives Tale #2: Shape of Belly
If you are carrying high with a big, round belly, you are having a girl. If you are carrying low with a smaller belly that sticks straight out, it’s a boy. (It seems like every week my belly shape changes) Prediction Outcome: Boy and Girl

Old Wives Tale #3: Acne
If you have acne while pregnant, it’s a girl. It’s thought that acne during pregnancy is caused by extra hormones. (My skin is crazy. One week it will be clear, the next I’ll be breaking out) Prediction Outcome: Boy and Girl

Old Wives Tale #4: Cravings
People believe that if you are craving salting foods while pregnant, you can count on having a boy. If you crave sweets, fruits, and orange juice, you are having a girl. (I haven’t been craving anything this pregnancy but love eating fruits) Prediction Outcome: Girls

Old Wives Tale #5: Skin Under Left Eye
The eye test is when a “V” or “branches” appear when you pull down the skin under your left eye. If you see a V or branches in the white part, you are having a girl. (I’ve got a big V under there) Prediction Outcome: Girls

Old Wives Tale #6: Legs
If your legs get really big, you’re having a boy. If your legs stay in shape and lean, it’s a girl. (Definitely big and fat legs over here) Prediction Outcome: Boys

Old Wives Tale #7: Chinese Gender Chart
The Chinese Gender Chart claims to have an accuracy rate of over 90%. It is based on how old the mother is at conception and the month that she conceived. Prediction Outcome: Girls

Old Wives Tale #8: Mom’s Beauty
If you’re beauty disappears during pregnancy you are having a girl. It is said that the girl “steals” the mother’s beauty. If you think that pregnancy has never made you look more beautiful, it’s a little boy. Prediction Outcome: Boy and Girl

Old Wives Tale #9: Dream of Sex of the Baby
Dreams show the opposite of what you are having. If you dream about having a boy, you will have a girl and vice versa. (I haven’t dreamt about them at all) Prediction Outcome: Inconclusive

Old Wives Tale#10: Clumsy vs. Graceful
If the pregnant women is graceful throughout her pregnancy, she is having a girl. If she becomes clumsy, she’s having a boy. Prediction Outcome: Boys

Old Wives Tale #11: Side You Rest Most On
If a pregnant woman prefers to lay on her left side, she’s having a boy. If she prefers resting on her right side, she’s having a girl. Prediction Outcome: Boys

Old Wives Tale #12: Dad’s Weight Gain
If the dad-to-be gains weight while you are pregnant, it’s a girl. If he doesn’t gain weight, you’re having a boy. Prediction Outcome: Boys

Old Wives Tale #13: Breast Test
If a pregnant woman’s left breast is larger than the right breast, she’s having a girl. If the right breast is larger, it’s a boy. (This has never changed for me…) Prediction Outcome: Girls

Old Wives Tale #14: What Does Mom Think?
71% of the time, the mom-to-be knows what she is having. Prediction Outcome: One Boy and One Girl

Old Wives Tale #15: Morning Sickness
If you had a smooth pregnancy with no morning sickness, it’s a boy. If you were sick or felt really nauseous during your pregnancy count on a girl. (I’ve been extremely sick since week 5) Prediction Outcome: Girls

Old Wives Tale #16: Areolae
If your areolae (the part around your nipples) have darkened, it’s a boy. If they haven’t, it’s a girl. (No change) Prediction Outcome: Boys

Old Wives Tale #17: Protein
When a pregnant woman craves meat and cheese, count on a boy. (I’ve avoided meat like the plague) Prediction Outcome: Girls

Old Wives Tale #18: Feet
Are your feet colder now that you’re pregnant? If so, you just might be having a boy. If your feet have stayed the same before pregnancy and during, you’re having a girl. Prediction Outcome: Girls

Old Wives Tale #19: Headaches
If you’re having headaches, you might be carrying a boy. Prediction Outcome: Boys

Old Wives Tale #20: Baby Names
It is said that when you can only think of specific names for a boy or a girl, you will have that particular baby. (We have one name for each gender…) Prediction Outcome: Boy and Girl

Centerpiece Craft - 4th of July

I've started preparing for my BBQ on July 4th and the first thing I knew I wanted to make was a centerpiece for the table where all the food is going to be laid out. Regardless of what's going on in Washington and who is President right now, I'm a diehard America fan. My father was in the Air Force, I grew up a Military Brat, tons of uncles and aunts and my grandparents have served... and my brother is currently serving the US Air Force so I'm a little obsessed with these patriotic holidays. I think I mentioned before that July 4th is becoming one of my favorites but anyway because of this I'm going all out for this BBQ so let's get into the craft. Life Update - No April Fools

I sit here in a crowded room filled with papers, knick knacks, Christmas decorations, Wedding Planning materials and more sprawled out everywhere. I worked my last day at the corporate distribution center on Friday. Come Monday I'll be starting in a new-to-me building and it's bitter-sweet. I love the old DC, where there were only about 100 corporate employees there, everyone knew everybody personally and you could have personal items displayed on your desk without fear of something happening to them. With this move, I don't think I will be as lucky... Hence all the random items now laid out in my office.  I'm realizing I'm going to need to make a trip down to the storage unit to put away the boxes that came home from the office. But seeing all my packed up wedding items, I've also been thinking I really need to start promoting my wedding/event planning business.
